Our Story

Since its beginning, LDCSS has been a parent-directed school.  The Board of Directors is comprised of parents of current, former and future students, whose common commitment is to offer a high quality Christian education. Our school seeks to instill in students a deep sense of awe in the beauty and the complexity of God’s creation, and a conviction that we are each uniquely equipped to honour our Creator through passionate, restorative, creative work. Our school’s diploma requirements also exceed those set by the Ontario Ministry of Education.

LDCSS was originally located at 243 Tremont Road in London

LDCSS was established in 1965, opening its doors to 27 students.  Enrollment grew steadily to a high of 366 students in 2003/04, many of whom came from the surrounding communities of Woodstock, Aylmer, St. Thomas, Strathroy, Sarnia and Clinton.  Many of our current students still travel daily from these communities.

With expanding enrollment throughout the 1990’s, two facility expansion projects were undertaken, in 1997 and 2001, to add a Performing Arts room, two new science rooms, a Resource room, several additional classrooms and an atrium, all to enhance the educational and the communal experience of our students.

Since 2005, our student enrollment has ranged from 300 to 360 students. We participate in the life of the greater London and regional community through local service projects, through field studies, and through academic and athletic interactions with students and teachers at other schools in the City and region.  Through all of these activities, we help our students to think, speak and interact with others in a way that affirms God’s love for every part of His creation.
